 IIT Gandhinagar cordially invites you to consider submitting an expression of interest for the 2013 Young Researchers Conclave (YRC), the third edition of a popular annual initiative undertaken by IITGN. This edition of YRC will be held on 27-28 December, 2013, and is designed to provide a common platform for scholarly exchange of research ideas among brilliant young minds like you. This unique event will give you a chance to
  • Discuss new possibilities and challenges in Indian academics
  • Learn about funding opportunities and collaborative projects in India
  • Visit a progressive new institute that supports innovative teaching and research
  • Interact with fellow scholars and eminent Indian academics
  • Explore the vibrant and dynamic city of Ahmedabad
This event would also be a ideal platform for prospective faculty candidates to discover India's rapidly expanding academic opportunities and learn first-hand about opportunities at IIT Gandhinagar.
IIT Gandhinagar will be happy to extend domestic travel coverage and local hospitality to all participants.

Background:

India is in the process of rapidly expanding and reforming research in academia and higher technical education with the establishment of new IITs, other research institutes, and spearheading educational initiatives. The country is calling on its best and brightest young minds to help our country take the next big leap in higher education and research.

With this in mind, what can a new institute do to support this grand mission while establishing itself as a center of excellence in emerging India? IIT Gandhinagar is organizing a two day conclave to bring together some of the best young minds in order to address this challenge.

The Conclave seeks talented and motivated graduate students and post-doctoral researchers from around the world to discuss opportunities and challenges in Indian academia, specifically in the context of an emerging Institute that aims to be world class in research and teaching. The Conclave includes talks and discussions on a range of topics including funding opportunities, scope for experimental research, collaborative opportunities in India, and will present an opportunity for driven graduate students and post-docs to interact with each other and with eminent Indian academics.
